See San Diego's Beautiful Beaches
Swim, Surf, Bike, Relax: The Choice Is Yours
San Diego is world-famous for its gorgeous beaches, and there's no surprise why. With miles of golden sand, sunny skies, and deep-blue waters, it's easy to see why people from all over the world visit our beautiful city. And lucky for you, the Blue Sea Beach Hotel is located right on Pacific Beach and within walking distance of Mission Beach, giving guests easy access to one of the best beaches in San Diego. We may be partial, so we invite you to come stay with us and see for yourself.
Below is our beach guide to the best of San Diego, CA.
An excellent way to spend some downtime in San Diego is to head right out of the hotel to this beach where you'll find quaint shops, beachside bars, and plenty of sand to lounge out on. Pacific Beach - known as "PB" to the locals - spans from the Crystal Pier to Mission Beach. Between the beach and the town is a paved, 3.2-mile long boardwalk that's popular with runners, walkers, rollerbladers, and bikers - which offers some of the BEST people watching around. PB also features a plethora of boutiques, beach bars, and restaurants to choose from all within walking distance.
For those looking to enjoy the waves, PB attracts surfers, body boarders, and swimmers from all over San Diego. Whether it is your first time taking to the waves or your 100th just looking to advance your skills, the Pacific Surf School is located right on the sand in front of our hotel and offers lessons and surf camps year-round.
If relaxing poolside is more your scene, we can help with that, too. Our oceanfront year-round pool and spa offer views of the sand of Pacific Beach, action of the boardwalk, and crashing waves beyond. In addition, we offer a convenient poolside bar with beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy under the sun.
Known for its shaved ice, rollercoaster, beach bars, and epic people watching, guests can expect to see plenty of young adults having a good time in Mission Beach. Located right next to Pacific Beach (you may not even know that you changed towns), Mission Beach also features fire pits, showers, and restrooms that draw families, too. A limited amount of beach-friendly wheelchairs are also available at lifeguard stations.
Just a few miles north of Pacific Beach, guests will find the upscale beach community of La Jolla, CA. It's one of the best beaches to learn surfing and stand-up paddle boarding because of the ease of getting into the ocean. This area is also known for its kayaking rentals and snorkeling at La Jolla Cove. Also, just a short walk away guests will find some great shopping and dining.
